Abstract

Criteria on the various proposals for the evolution of helminths are compiled and analyzed, many of them under the advanced technology perspective. Adaptation mechanisms are exemplified in some cases of helminths that persist as parasites, such as Fasciola hepatica, Ascaris lumbricoides, Taenia solium, Echinococcus spp., and some others.
