Effect of Lecanicillium lecanii (Zimm.) Zare & W. Gams strain VL-01 ON Myzus persicae nicotianae Blackman (Hemiptera: Aphididae) in laboratory trials

Abstract

The effect of the strain Vl-01 of the entomopathogenic fungus Lecanicillium lecanii (Zimm.) Zare & W. Gams on mortality of the last two instars of Myzus persicae nicotianae Blackman was evaluated in laboratory trials by using the spraying method. Three concentrations of the fungus and a control treatment were used. The highest mortality in M. persicae was produced between 48 and 72 hours after spraying with the fungal concentration of 1x109conidia.ml–1. Sporulation in the moist chamber occurred between two and three days of fungal growth.
